Meeting notes

Tuesday training

There was discussion around whether the structure of Tuesday training sessions should be changed to boost attendance. Suggestions included shortening to one hour for an earlier finish, or frontloading the session to give people the option to leave early. It was suggested this could be revisited later depending on attendance.

Welsh beach korf tournament

Chris W is taking forward plans for a Welsh beach korfball tournament weekend next summer. This would require volunteers from our club to help with organising.

Fees

Chris W recommended keeping member fees the same. It was previously decided that the coach’s discount would be conditional on the number of sessions taken; it was agreed that the minimum number of sessions to qualify for the discount should be ten. There was also agreement that coaching games, as well as leading training sessions, should count towards this.

Fixtures

It was suggested that we could host our Cardiff City intra-club fixture in our training session on 12th December. We would need a referee and jury for this.

We also need to get availability for fixture dates from members soon. There was discussion around apps that could be used for this. There was also a suggestion that coaches should record attendance at training.

Action: Cat to look at apps for recording availability (Teamer and Spond)

Cardiff Uni Freshers’ Tournament

Cardiff Uni Freshers’ Tournament is happening on 24th October. The club will need to enter a team into the tournament soon if we plan to attend. Early bird fees end on Monday.

Action: Gauge interest with a poll as soon as possible.

Committee positions

There are three committee positions left to fill since the AGM: social secretary, recruitment secretary and social media secretary.

Action: Put out comms to encourage people to fill the positions.

AOB

There was a brief discussion about summer training sessions, some of which had low attendance. There was support for running beach korf every week next year instead of fortnightly, and continuing to invite other clubs, as we had had good attendance for these sessions this year.
