Summer training
Plans for training over the summer were discussed. An action was taken to cancel indoor training between the start of June and mid-August, when training will be outdoors. Training will resume on 13th August on Thursdays, then back to twice a week from September.
An action was taken to inquire about availability of the beach volleyball courts over the summer. We can then contact other clubs to potentially coordinate joint attendance.
Social media
Aman informed the committee that Izzie and Miqdad have volunteered to help with social media content, under Aman’s guidance as the recruitment secretary. It was generally agreed that this could be done on an informal basis, and Recruitment Secretary role(s) be filled formally at the next AGM.
Potential plans for a media day to take photos for use on social media were discussed.
Coaching meeting outcome
Rebakah shared the main outcomes of the coaching meeting held in February. These included plans for more continuity between sessions, with coaches to submit session plans for feedback in advance; sessions to begin more promptly; each training session to have a lead coach and backup/assistant coach, for contingency, and to support with beginners. A Confluence page has been set up to hold documentation relating to training sessions.
Korfbase app
Aman has developed an app that can be used for administration relating to the club, such as monitoring training attendance. There was discussion around a small group of members trialling its use, and comparing with the existing app, Spond.
