City notched up another solid win but will again be wondering what they have to do to hit top gear for the whole game. Another excellent first half display saw us pulling away nicely 10-5 at half time, only for the second half to fall rather flat.

The opening 30 minutes were an excellent advert for exciting korfball in the EKL, with City doing everything right. Lee and Ramzi are developing an superb understanding, and made life hell for their markers right from the off. Ramzi was again the star, launching City's assault on the scoreboard with some speedy runners, and with Zoe and Rachel scoring with their first touches, the Royal blue lead started to build. Two opportunist goals from Taff and a splendid solo effort from Midge, racing after her own rebound against much taller opposition and popping in the short shot meant we turned around with a healthy lead

The second half was rather more subdued. Yet again the opposition slow-down tactics worked a treat, and with nothing falling from distance City were reduced to a lot of one shot attacks against a tall Taunton side. The defence was better, but with only 4 goals going in, and a lot of time spent waiting for the Taunton attack to put a shot up, the final whistle came at 14-9, not as convincing as might have been hoped for at half time.

On the plus side 7 players made the scoresheet, and Max and Aidan both gained some valuable first team experience, looking well up to the task defensively and slotting into the attacking formations with ease.

Cardiff City 14 9 Taunton
Ramzi 4
Taff 2
Lee 2
Midge 2
Zoe 2
Kristina 1
