A rejigged Cardiff City team took to the court for their match against Horfield without two of their most influential boys (Ceri and Taff) looking to build on their last win over Taunton. After a couple of fruitless attacks City's starting attack of Susan, Midge, Ramzi and Lee managed to break the deadlock and settle the nerves. At the other end Rachel, Kristina, Harry and Terry looked comfortable in defence against a spirited Horfield outfit, buoyed by the earlier comeback of their 2nd team. Against Taunton City struggled for fluidity and ball retention, but none of was evident as they got into their stride in this match. Five, six shot attacks were the norm as Cardiff dominated the post and kept width to their play. Some fine long shooting from Ramzi, Harry, Susan etc. was backed up by great running from Midge, who on another day could have had a handful, Kristina, who again was abruptly halted in full flight twice only for Harry to nail the penalties from the spot, and Rachel. As the game began to slip away from Horfield in the 2nd half City even managed to bring a few training ground set pieces into action as their confidence grew, much to the delight of player/coach Susan. With a little bit more accurate shooting the score could well have been a lot higher than the 16 posted, but credit must also go to Horfield for their attitude and commitment which ensured that the match was competitive to the last and played in a friendly, good natured way. Thanks also to referee Josh, who must by now be getting sick of the sight of us!
