Cardiff City I v Bristol City I

Cardiff City Squad

Ceri Jones, Lee O'Sullivan, Harry Smyth, Dave Thomas, Ramzi Barbir, Susan Belfourd, Kristina Van Eker, Zoe Gabica, Catherine Crimmins

Another frustrating outing for City as we again failed to get out of second gear in either half. A strange game this, with two goals being the biggest lead anyone could muster, and both halves drawn after Cardiff spent most of it in the ascendancy.

Lee's long shot opened the scoring for us and despite a frantic early period of pressure, it took a while for Exeter to claim the first of their 6 equalisers in the game. Kristina earned a penalty which Harry slotted, and after the inevitable equaliser Ramzi and Lee sunk identical longshots to give us our biggest lead. A bit of luck would have helped massively at this point since the chance to extend the lead would probably have produced a different result, but shot after shot clattered the rim and refused to drop. As the half wound down two more goals by Exeter dragged the score back to 4 a piece.

With everything still to play for City brought on Taff for Ramzi as part of the squad rotation, but it made little difference as the two teams could not be separated. Taff's swiveling close in shot gave city their fourth lead, but after ages in attack and no shots falling in, Exeter were able to peg us back again. Kristina's long shot and Susan's goal from a neat turn in feed gave us two more leads, but Exeter proved equal to the task, nailing two more equalisers to give a final score of 7-all.

Cardiff City 7 7 Exeter
Lee 2
Ramzi 1
Susan 1
Kristina 1
Harry 1
Taff 1
