Cardiff City Seconds again!

In the final match of the evening both Cardiff sides continued the trend of playing some brilliant korfball, the like of which had already been served up by the First and Second team matches.

Fielding development teams with limited match experience both sides seemed quite matched for the first 5-10mins with the Students keeping posession well and limiting City's attacking oppurtunities. The breakthrough came when Terry, the most experienced player on court, used some of his old nous to put City one up. This lead was soon doubled by some great aggressive running from Gwen with a lovely finish after some good support work by Holly and Neil in her section. Now with a two goal advantage City started to play with the fluency and fluidity that we know they can. Two quick running in shots by Lee following set-up's from Pam and Aidan gave Cardiff a 4-0 lead at half time.

The second half was very much a tale of two halves as City's attackers marshalled by Terry kept plugging away doggedly for the next goal, Holly particularly unlucky on a couple of occasions. At the other end City's defence was increasingly resolute and determined to "nil" a Uni side who commitment and enthusiasm was undiminished in spite of the scoreline. Kate, Pam and Aidan working tirelessy throughout what was a physically demanding 30mins.

And so the match ended in a 4-0 victory for Cardiff City, but that is not the full story. With so many people hanging around all night to support their team-mates and with the skill level on show in the final match, it is clear to see that the futures of both clubs is looking very bright indeed.
