Cardiff City played their first home game of the season at home to Cardiff University

Cardiff Uni warmed up in good style for the upcoming nationals with a comprehensive win over Cardiff city. Showing excellent levels of organisation and team-work, Cardiff uni were easily able to overcome Cardiff City's usual early lead, and rack up a series of well taken goals from almost all players. Throughout Cardiff struggled to gain any real momentum or cohesion and only two players troubled the scorer. Cardiff Uni quickly pinpointed the inexperienced players in the city side and concentrated their attacks for maximum benefit. Some excellent defensive work by Josh Cockburn and Cally Procter wasn't good enough to avoid 17 goals being put past Cardiff city, although the somewhat bizarre choice of ends meant that Cardiff's four most experienced players were together in defence for alomst the entire second half. A mistake we will not be making again!

Finally, big thanks to Llew for reffing us.

Cardiff City 5 17 Cardiff Uni
Dave Thomas 4
Midge 1
