Another tremendous half-game performance was enough to see City through against a determined and much improved Bristol Uni outfit. Where the Horfield match ignited after half time, this game was notable for the excellent first half effort.

Ramzi got us flying out of the blocks, racing past his marker and showing good accuracy from deep to land 5 first half goals, at the other end Ceri's height and Taff's speed caused the students problems and City's lead increased from both ends. Half time came at 11-2 with further contributions from Kristina, Lee twice and Rachel.

The second half was rather more subdued. The Badgers successfully took the pace off the game and City struggled to assert themselves. With some rather less accurate shooting and more wayward passes the second half only yielded 8 goals for us, a late hattrick from Susan being the highlight. City notably took their feet off the pedal defensively too, allowing 4 goals for the students as they fought back. Midge capped the best defensive show of the night with a goal of her own late on.

City will look back on another excellent 30 minutes of work which got the game won by half time, but wonder when it will all come together for the full 60.

Thanks to Josh for reffing us yet again, and to Bristol Uni for their efforts to get the game underway quickly in what limitted hall time their Uni let them have!
