After the first team had narrowly lost their game to Bristol Uni, it was left to the second team to restore the club's credibility. However, in the first ten minutes it seemed that the Uni team might be allowed to run away with the game, with two quick goals. That was until James decided to show the club once again how he can score from the from the half way line, allowing the team to put themselves back in the game. Pretty soon after James decided to repeat the glory, with yet another long shot, this time taking the score up to 2-4 to the Uni side. Credit has to be given to the defensive play of all the players, who demonstrated how much they had improved over the last few months. At half time, three of the girls were substituted for Kay, Abi and Holly, leaving the boys the same as the first half. The girls all determined to put themselves on the scoreboard, dominated the second half of play. After several near misses at goal from running in shots, Rachel managed to claim a penalty and successfully scored from it. The Uni side were however unwilling to be put out of the game, and scored a quick succession of goals, using their strength of their boys to do so. The City side did not succumb to the pressure, seen by a goal from Abi, taking her opponent unaware at a free pass opportunity. In the last fifteen minutes, Josh our second team captain came on determined to cause some problems for the Uni. Fortunately for the team, he was able to do so by scoring a goal in the last few minutes. It was not enough though, with the Uni side winning the game, 6-5. An exceptional game all round for the second team who showed that even the strongest of teams and players do little to deter them.
