Cardiff City continued their fine 'being behind when the game ended' run against Bristol Uni City played their second home fixture on Tuesday night against a Bristol University team looking to perfect their Nationals squad. Faced with a Bristol team with a considerable height advantage, City was facing a losing battle around the post. From this platform, Bristol were able to confidently recycle out from the collect. It would be this fact that would decide the game. City showed good tenacity early on, and kept Bristol to a couple of goals distance, but eventually Bristol's boys found their range and dropped in a couple of big long shots to provide a decent 4-1 half time lead. City did give a better second half performance than of late, and kept the score respectable, though were unable to get past Bristol's aggressive defensive shield to provide any pressure on the opposition. Girls especially were finding it hard to find space. Encouragement can be had for city from good performances by new boys Aidan Dickson and James Frost, the later especially unlucky not to score on his debut. Fellow debutante Dan Greenwood, had a solid game too, scoring once to show that Lancaster Uni can still produce half-decent players!
Finally, big thanks to Susan for reffing us. (ahem) & Grace
for stepping in to bail us out for a 4th girl!
