Competitions

Keep up to date with how our teams are getting on...

Cardiff City & Met have teams for people of all abilities and aspirations to enjoy korfball.
Even if you’ve never played this fantastic sport before, you will find a level that suits you.

Korf-Lite is a social korfball league run in Cardiff. All of the games will be at a set venue on a week night. This is the best place for complete beginners to play matches against other clubs and it’s also perfect if you don’t have free time on the weekends to play in the other leagues. Cardiff Met Archers compete in this league, which is great preparation for BUCS. Cardiff City also enters teams which are open to any members of the club – regardless of experience or ability.

Mavericks play in the Welsh National League against other clubs from Aberystwyth, Swansea, and Cardiff. Mavs ensured the club kept the Welsh League title for the third year running! There are a few away games for Mavs but the matches mostly take place in Cardiff. If you’re just getting into korfball and learning the game, or if you can’t commit to travelling long distances regularly, then this team is ideal for you!

Cyclones were promoted last season and finished third in the English Western Regional League. This team competes against tougher competition from clubs in Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, Oxford, and Farnborough. It takes more experience and commitment to play at this level but even so we often have players in their first season making their debut for Cyclones!

Archers is the student team that competes in the BUCS university championships. These events take place in the form of tournament style competitions throughout the academic year. The first event is the Preliminary round held in Cardiff in December. Only full-time students attending Cardiff Metropolitan University can take part.
